Three Generations Of Exeter Family Get On Their Bikes For Children In Need
Three generations of the same family are set to undertake a gruelling cycle challenge to raise funds for Children in Need.
Joe Toms, General Manager at Bristol Street Motors Exeter Hyundai, his six-year-old son Albie, and Albie’s grandad Pat Williams, will be cycling the 98-mile Devon coast-to-coast route.
The ambitious ride, which combines the beaches and estuaries of North Devon with the lush green valleys of West Country rivers, was inspired by Pat, who wanted to embark on a meaningful challenge with his family. When Pat suggested the idea, young Albie was quick to agree, choosing Children in Need as the beneficiary of their efforts.
The trio have been training but the near 100-mile ride will be their longest journey yet.
Albie, filled with both excitement and determination, shared his thoughts: “I’m excited and nervous because it’s a long way, but I know it will be a lot of fun and I’ll be so proud when I finish. I believe it’s important to help other children who are less fortunate. We’ve already beaten our first fundraising target, so to raise even more money would mean the world to me.”
Joe Toms, proud father and General Manager at Bristol Street Motors Exeter Hyundai, expressed his support for the challenge: “This cycle ride is a fantastic opportunity for our family to come together for a great cause. Seeing Albie’s enthusiasm and understanding of the importance of helping others is incredibly inspiring.
“We are grateful for any support and sponsorship, which will make a significant impact on the lives of children who benefit from Children in Need.”
